Flood swept away three people afrer in a heavy downpour in Zaria, Kaduna State.
According reports, the corpse of a youth identified as Yusuf Surajo known as Abba, was recovered, while Fatima Sani Danmarke, her 3-year old baby and a motorcyclist were missing.
Mustapha Badamasi, Dan Bakano of Tudun jukun, said Yusuf Surajo’s corpse was recovered from the flood while at least two are missing.
An eyewitness, Mustapha Badamasi said that the motorcyclist, shortly after the rain was carrying a woman and her 3-year old baby hit the edge of the road drainage and attempted to fall into it.
Badamasi said, “The unfortunate incident occurred on the main Gaskiya road near a church in Tudun Jukun where water submerged the big drainage by the road side,” he said.
“The woman quickly jumped from the bike and while attempting to cross the drainage by foot she slipped and fell along with the baby on her back and were instantly swept away by the speeding water.”
