French President Emmanuel Macron has announced plans to intensify France’s counter-terrorism assistance to Nigeria, following a discussion with President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Macron expressed France’s solidarity with Nigeria as it confronts “various security challenges, particularly the terrorist threat in the north”.
He reaffirmed France’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Nigeria in the fight against terrorism and in improving regional stability.
