BREAKING: Kwankwaso approves nomination tickets for children of late Kano lawmakers

The national leader of the NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has directed that nomination tickets be given to the children of two deceased members of the Kano State House of Assembly to contest in the forthcoming by-elections for the vacant seats.

Reports indicate that the children of the late lawmakers have emerged as candidates for the Kano State House of Assembly under the platform of the NNPP.

Earlier this week, two state lawmakers—Hon. Aminu Sa’adu Ungoggo and Sarki Aliyu Daneji—passed away on the same day, a development that plunged the people of the state into mourning.

Sources from the families of the deceased lawmakers, alongside some NNPP leaders in Kano Municipal Local Government Area, confirmed the decision to THR News.

The sources said Kwankwaso’s decision has been well received within the party, and is being viewed as an effort to strengthen unity and ensure fairness to the families of party members who lost their lives while in service.

As of the time of filing this report, the NNPP had not issued an official statement on the matter, but one is expected in the coming days.
