BREAKING: ASUU Declares Two-Week Warning Strike Over Unmet Demands

The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has directed all its branches across Nigeria to embark on a two-week warning strike beginning Monday.

The President of ASUU, Prof. Chris Piwuna, announced the development during a press briefing at the union’s national secretariat, located at the University of Abuja.

According to Piwuna, the decision to commence the strike followed the federal government’s failure to address the union’s long-standing demands, despite several negotiations and reminders.

He said the warning strike is intended to compel the government to take urgent steps toward fulfilling its obligations to university lecturers and the education sector at large.
