Barau welcomes hundreds of NNPP members

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has received hundreds of defectors from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State.
The event, which drew a large crowd of supporters, marks another major defection from the NNPP, further bolstering the APC’s strength ahead of future elections.
Addressing the gathering, Barau commended the defectors for what he described as a courageous and wise decision, assuring them of equal opportunities and inclusion in the ruling party.

“We are here to receive hardworking youths, men and women from the Kwankwasiyya Movement, into our great party, the APC,” he said. “APC is the largest party in Africa, and we are committed to human development. I see no reason to remain in a party like the NNPP.”
He urged them to work with existing members to promote unity and development in Kano and across Nigeria.
