Police have arrested suspected bandits and cattle rustlers who were terrorizing the Wamakko and Kware local government areas.
A statement signed by the spokesman of the Command, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i disclosed this on tuesday.
He said the police acted on a credible intelligence received on October 4, 2025, at about 14:00 hours.
During the arrest, Bilal Umar was found in possession of a quantity of illicit hard drugs.

A search of the other suspects’ mobile devices revealed incriminating videos of them brandishing rifles in what appears to be their bandit camp.
“We quickly mobilized our tactical team and the portion led to the arrest of four individuals: Bubale Muhd “M”, Bammo Tanimu “M”, Maluma Arzika “M” and Bilal Umar “M”– identified as the group’s hard drugs supplier.
“This operation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to rooting out criminal elements and restoring safety to our communities,” stated the Sokoto State Police Commissioner.
“The arrests of these individuals, particularly their drug supplier, is a critical step in dismantling the network that fuels violence and instability in the region.”
The suspects were reportedly apprehended while spending lavishly.
The police added that investigation into the case is ongoing.
