Any Other Emir Is Fake: Kwankwaso Reinforces Sanusi II’s Legitimacy in Kano

Former Governor of Kano State and NNPP national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has restated that Muhammadu Sanusi II remains the only Emir of Kano recognized by the people and government of the state.

Kwankwaso made the remarks on Saturday during the 4th Convocation Ceremony of Skyline University Nigeria, where he was the Special Guest of Honour.

Speaking before thousands of graduates, parents, academics and dignitaries, Kwankwaso declared:
“Mohammed Sanusi II is the only Emir in Kano being recognized by the people and government of Kano State. Any other one is fake. Any other one posted either from Abuja or elsewhere is a fake Emir.”

He recalled that during the 1970s, Kano once witnessed the emergence of an unrecognized “second Emir,” stressing that the current situation is not new and that the people of Kano clearly know whom their legitimate traditional ruler is.

Kwankwaso praised Emir Sanusi’s leadership and expressed satisfaction that Skyline University chose him as its Chancellor, describing the Emir as a symbol of education, integrity and progress.
According to him, “Anybody who follows education is our own, and the Emir is our own.”
