5 militia armed men arrested in Plateau

Troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF OPEP), restoring peace and harmony in Plateau state have arrested 15 militia armed men.

The militia men were arrested around Jamrop village of Qua’an Pan local government area of the state during a joint operation. 

The troop said they have also recovered arms and ammunition during the operation, adding that the operation is in line with efforts to decimate the activities of criminal elements in Qua’an Pan general area.

The Operation’s spokesperson, major Samson Zhakom said it came during ‘conducted offensive operations’ on 19 September 2025, following credible intelligence on the activities of armed militias who burnt huts at Jamrop Village in Qua’an Pan LGA.

Explaining further, Major Zhakom said, “During the technology-enabled operation, troops intercepted 15 armed militias involved in the act of arson, and recovered Fifteen fabricated rifles, One hundred and five cartridges, and other sundry items.”
