A planned trafficking of four women from Kano to Saudi Arabia has been foiled by the Kano State Hisbah Board.
The operation took place on Sunday along Zaria Road, where Hisbah operatives arrested the alleged trafficker, Bashir Sani Ibrahim.
The Deputy Commander-General, Dr. Mujahideen Aminudeen, said the women were promised lucrative opportunities abroad but were instead being pushed into a dangerous journey.
“They were told visas would be arranged in Ghana, but in reality, many end up in prostitution, drugs, or worse. This is what we keep warning people about,” he said.

Four women including Harira Muhammad from Jigawa, Sailuba Ibrahim and Rakiya Umar from Kano, and Hadiza Muhammad from Yobe, were rescued.
Investigations showed that each of them had already paid N2 million, with another N1.5 million to be paid once their visas were processed, amounting to ₦3.5 million per person.
Dr. Aminudeen urged Nigerians to rethink such risky ventures. “If you have that kind of money, it is enough to start a meaningful business here at home.
“Do not be deceived into abandoning your family only to fall into the hands of strangers,” he advised.
The suspects, along with the victims’ documents, have been handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further action.
