Four passengers have been killed and seven others injured in a ghastly road accident along the Lokoja Ajaokuta road in Kogi State.
The incident occurred around 7am on Sunday when a commercial bus rammed into a stationary articulated vehicle during a failed overtaking attempt.
Eyewitnesses said the crash involved an 18-seater bus with Abuja registration number ABC 232 XA, which was heading towards Abuja, and a trailer with Kaduna registration number 704 XC. Both vehicles reportedly collided with a stationary articulated truck while attempting to overtake on the highway.
The accident left the bus badly damaged, with debris and the fallen trailer blocking the road and bringing vehicular movement to a standstill for several hours.
