A boat conveying passengers capsized Thursday evening in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The boat, carrying predominantly women reportedly, struck a culvert edge, while fleeing a bandit attack.
Rescue efforts are currently underway as authorities work to assess the full extent of the casualties.
