NSCDC Arrests Four Notorious Vandals, Burglars in Kano

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested four suspected criminals believed to be behind a series of burglary and vandalism cases across parts of the state.

State Commandant Bala Bawa Bodiga disclosed this on Thursday, October 23, 2025, while addressing journalists at the Corps headquarters in Kano.

According to him, the suspects were apprehended during intensified operations aimed at curbing criminal activities, particularly vandalism and burglary, within the state.

“The suspects were arrested at three different locations — Dambatta, Fagge, and Tarauni Local Government Areas — where they specialized in breaking into houses and stealing valuables,” the Commandant said.

He revealed that the suspects had confessed to the crimes, and several stolen items were recovered from them. The exhibits include nine mobile phones, one bicycle, three standing fans, three solar panels, one flat-screen television, two bundles of wires, two burglar-proof windows, iron rods, three MP3 speakers, a small solar panel, one power bank, and three vehicle tyres.

Bodiga added that investigations have been concluded and the suspects will soon be charged to court.

He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding lives and property as well as protecting critical national assets and infrastructure across the state.

“We appeal to the general public to support security agencies by providing timely and useful information that can help prevent criminal activities,” the Commandant urged.

The NSCDC, he said, remains resolute in its determination to make Kano safer for all residents.
