The National Assembly has approved President Bola Tinubu’s request to borrow ₦1.15 trillion to finance the deficit in the 2025 national budget.
Both chambers — the Senate and the House of Representatives — gave their approval during plenary sessions held on Wednesday.
The approved loan is expected to help bridge the funding gap in the 2025 budget and support key government programmes and projects.
