Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has directed the country’s service chiefs to visit the North-East and North-West regions to reassess and rejig ongoing military operations.
The directive was issued during a meeting held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Defence, where the minister met with the service chiefs to review the security situation in the affected zones.
According to Timothy Antigha, media adviser to the minister, the visit is aimed at evaluating current strategies and strengthening military responses to the security challenges confronting the regions.
Antigha told TheCable that the service chiefs are expected to submit a report of their findings after completing the assessment tour of the security-challenged geopolitical zones.
